board games for kids
December 17th, 2008
According to Dr. Howard Gardner, there are 8 types of intelligence children possess. One or two intelligences may be more dominant, but all people possess all 8 in varying degrees. It is up to the parent to encourage his children to develop his gifts further. One of the best ways to encourage a child to learn is through play.
The toys that a parent may choose for his or her child can help strengthen his intelligence. For example, a child who is math smart may appreciate flash cards for counting. A nature smart child may like to play with bug catchers or microscopes. An interpersonal child may enjoy playing board games for kids such as junior scrabble or junior Pictionary.
