Modern Version of the Vintage Horse Rocker

August 1st, 2011

The iconic rocking horse is an antique child’s toy. They are usually made of wood in either of two designs. One is that of a horse attached to a pair of rockers. This one sits on the ground; the child sits on a bench look- alike and moves the horse while holding on to handles attached to the horse’s mane. In the other design the horse hangs on a rigid frame through iron straps. The frame stays immobile while the horse moves in its hanging position. Both designs have given enjoyment to thousands of babies who have ridden it over the years.

Modern versions are inspired by the antique rocking horse. Kid Kraft has its own adaptation of the derby rocking horse. It has abundant mane, sturdy solid wood construction and unique anti-tip rockers. This version certainly has modern features not found in the antique version. It will quickly become your child’s favorite.
