Longboard skateboards
This sports equipment is longer and wider than the regular skateboard. Longboard skateboards do not come close to the surfboard in size but longboarding is sometimes referred to as surfing on concrete. They are also less suitable for skateboarding tricks; but the design provides a more fluid motion and momentum. They allow big turns or quick short carves similar to the surfboard. Longboarding, in fact, gained popularity around the time that surfing was gaining ground. They might have been invented by surfers who were just looking for something to do on a day when the waves were a little flat
There are different kinds of longboards and the choice will depend on the intended use. Those who need the longboard as a means of transportation will look for one that is more flexible such as to offer a comfortable ride. Slalom longboards are mostly used for racing. They are shorter than those used for transportation and are made of carbon fiber or other high tech materials. The shorter length allows for easier navigating in tighter courses.
