inline skates
I consider all forms of skating, whether on ice or on solid ground, an art. How cool is it to glide through ice, cement or grass, balancing on a pair of boots attached to a blade or wheels and doing it in a most graceful manner. How confidently the skater moves to the rhythm of the music. I marvel at the speed at which the skater gets from one part of the rink to another. And when she exhibits figures in her skating, I secretly wish that I had taken this sport when I was younger.
Ice skating and roller skating have been with us for some time now. The invention of the inline skates is a more recent occurrence. Inline skates are different because they have a series of wheels arranged in a single line. Bearings allow the wheels to rotate freely around an axle. The result is more freedom of movement. And we need not worry about the safety of the skater because brakes are installed in either the heel or the toe part of the frame.
