Before even starting to play, take note of these tips from the masters:
~Keep your fingernails short by trimming them regularly. This will allow your fingers to hold down the notes easier and produce a better sound.
~Your fingers will start to hurt as you begin to play. This is normal. Eventually, with time and practice, your fingertips will develop calluses and the pain will go away.
~Take some time in between lessons to make sure that you’ve mastered each part. Practice each lesson for a few minutes before moving on to the next.
The child should also be taught the basic parts of the guitar. Guitars for kids, as in any normal guitar, have six strings each of a different size and representing a different note value. The length of the strings is divided by metal strips called frets. Placing the finger on a string in between frets enables you to play a note. The higher up you get on the frets, the higher the notes sound. In general, each fret is a half-step higher than the previous fret. With this basic information, your child can start forming chords and eventually be able to accompany somebody’s singing.

To us puzzles are just games to pass the time away. They satisfy an innate desire to accomplish something. Jigsaw puzzles are challenging because of the myriad pieces that need to be pieced together to complete a picture. The harder the puzzle the better satisfaction we get when it is completely done. It can also be very frustrating when cannot find the perfect location for an itinerant piece.
To scientists, jigsaw puzzles are tools that help the mental state of some patients. They say that successfully piecing a puzzle together, even just placing one piece successfully, encourages the production of dopamine, a brain chemical that improves learning and memory. Jigsaw puzzles create literal connections between the right and left brain, as well as individual brain cells, which increases the ability to learn. That is the scientific explanation of why Sudoku and Christian puzzles exercise the brain.

I teach swimming to preschoolers. As part of my swim program, I encourage them to bring toys with them. One kid brought two sailing ship models to class. It was amazing because the models he brought would float. One of the ships had a motorize engine so it would sail around by itself. My swim kid would swim after it and restart it again.
By letting the kids bring their own toys to class, they became more confident in their swimming. The kid with the sailing ship models actually swam for ten minutes straight without touching the corners of the pool. He was so engrossed with his toys that he didn’t realize he could swim for ten minutes. This was the same kid who had a hard time swimming 15yards. 15yards for him would be about 30-45 secs. Swimming for ten minutes is hard even for most adults.

Kids, especially toddlers love to play. Their activities vary from steady actions of just watching and singing along with nursery rhymes, to jumping and tumbling all over the place. During these strenuous activities, parents can’t help but worry that their little ones might just get hurt when they’re doing these physical games. There’s one way though to keep them busy in one corner without moving so much. Buy them a set of wooden blocks to build things of different kinds.
Wooden blocks vary in sizes and designs. They are kids’ favorite toys because there are so many things small boys and girls can make out of them. To name a few, these include:~ a pyramid~ words when blocks are designed with alphabets~ color groupings~ cars or different vehicular toys~ robots

Toys that are made from wood are good for children. Unlike plastic toys that may contain harmful chemicals, wooden toys are hypoallergenic and are very safe to use especially by little kids. For girls, wooden dollhouses provide hours of creativity and are very adorable to play with. Look for a well-made dollhouse made of durable, high quality wood.
Fill your child’s dollhouse with tiny furniture and interesting characters that she will love to play with. Make sure that the paint job is lead-free and all the parts are sturdy and securely attached to each other. Wooden toys like these last longer than plastic ones. Your child can even save her dollhouse for your family’s future generations.
