Fortunately, some of the games that toddlers play in their room can be brought outside so they can enjoy the benefits of the outdoors. On sunny days, bring out a large blanket and set it up in the yard. Bring out the child’s favorite toys and let him enjoy playing with them as he does indoors. Bring out his table and chair so he can make little projects. Do this early in the morning and be done before the sun gets too hot.

Introduce the child to toddler games that will encourage him to run around. Here are a couple of suggestions. Place a clothesline or rope on the ground and have kids take off their shoes and walk from one end to the other. You can also give a kid a beanbag so he can ran after other kids. Whoever he touches with the bag becomes “it” and the game continues. These simple games will encourage movement; it will be healthy exercise for the kids without their realizing it.
