Children learn most during play. That has been established already by many researchers and child experts. Help your child reach all his potentials by providing toys and games that will stimulate his mind, body and emotions. Even tiny babies start learning when they are given chances to explore while young.

Many adults mistakenly think that toys and games are just there to entertain children. They don’t. The brain develops most rapidly during childhood and stimulating that growth in positive ways should be made a priority by parents. Toys and games teach young kids balance and mobility, manipulative skills and imagination development.

discount Nintendo DS

February 27th, 2009

It was a good idea to do but left me quite hesitant to participate. At our fundraiser event, we members of the church’s organizing committee were asked to donate a personal item and let people bid on it. Some items will be bought for a small price, depending on its value, popularity (!), and usefulness.

For some reason my mother picked on my favorite game gadget and forced me to sell it as a discount Nintendo DS to the fundraising program. Of course I didn’t want to sell it; I use it all the time and I saved my own money to buy it. “Do it for charity, ” my mother says. But I don’t want to!

Horseshoes

February 20th, 2009

I love playing backyard games with friends and family. Our favorite game is Horseshoes. It’s fun and it involves almost everyone in the family. We just set it up and the fun immediately begins. Even the kids love playing this game. In fact, they have their own Horseshoes set.

It’s really quite easy to play the game:1. Once the set is up, divide into two teams. 2. First two players pitch from behind a specified line. 3. There are corresponding points for specified distances. 4. Once everyone on both teams has pitched, that’s considered one “inning.” 5. After an inning, tally up the scores. The team with the highest score wins.

When I was a kid, I had fun playing outdoor games with friends or family. Playing outdoors has given me so many memorable childhood memories which I treasure until now. I still remember traditional classic games such as hide-and-seek and red rover. The rules in playing them may have slightly changed over the years, but the concept still stays the same.

Babble

January 30th, 2009

Board games are fun. They’re easy to play and engaging. Babble is a great example of excellent board games. It’s simple enough to play with but the fun is addicting! It’s like playing go fish except with words.

It’s called Babble because the words printed on the cards are in no way connected to each other. Basically each player reads out the words on their cards simultaneously. When one player hears another player say a word that is also on his card then they have to place both cards face up on the table. To determine who wins the round, a die is cast. It is ideally played with 2 or more players.
