wooden dollhouses

July 6th, 2009

Toys that are made from wood are good for children. Unlike plastic toys that may contain harmful chemicals, wooden toys are hypoallergenic and are very safe to use especially by little kids. For girls, wooden dollhouses provide hours of creativity and are very adorable to play with. Look for a well-made dollhouse made of durable, high quality wood.

Fill your child’s dollhouse with tiny furniture and interesting characters that she will love to play with. Make sure that the paint job is lead-free and all the parts are sturdy and securely attached to each other. Wooden toys like these last longer than plastic ones. Your child can even save her dollhouse for your family’s future generations.

Almost every other girl loves to play with dolls. When I was growing up I enjoyed playing with dolls. I only had one but I loved it so much. I wanted my mom to buy me more dolls and dollhouses so I could play with them all day. So every birthday, my mom would give me a new doll to add to my collection. By the time I became a teenager, I had about five of 18 dolls.

I have a daughter now who’s almost two. She loves dolls just as much as I did. Fortunately for her, there are thousands of dolls to choose from and hundreds of accessories that come with them. For each character doll that’s introduced in the market, there are almost always several accessories that come with it. There are dollhouses, cars, hair care and clothes that come with every new character doll.

Little girls are made in heaven. That sounds like the title of a song. But it is true that little girls are blessings from heaven. They smell good, move in graceful motions, speak softly and are sweet most of the time. They love to let you fix their hair with clips and ribbons.

Even when they are at play, little girls exhibit a kind of gracefulness that you will love to watch. Their favorite toy is the doll house with a set of doll furniture. They love to remove all the furniture and put them back again in a different way. A miniature bed is placed in the middle of the small room. They find a piece of colored cloth to cover it. Finally they top it with a little pillow. Then they put a little chair beside it, and make their adorable doll sit on it.

I love my dollhouse! I had it when I was a little girl. My grandfather made it for me himself. And that is a good thing, because he is a master carpenter. He actually made it as a replica of one of the mansions that he and his team built in our state.

I have visited the house once and it looked exactly the same! That was really a great gift that he has given me. I have had the house repainted over the years, because it started to chip and fade, and I was also scared that the paint had lead in it. Now it stands proudly in our living room and visitors can’t help but marvel over the craftsmanship over the house and the doll house furniture that is in it. One of my friends offered to buy it for his daughter, but considering the history of the dollhouse, I think I will hang on to it for a little while longer.

If your daughter has her very own dollhouse, wouldn’t it be nicer if it had a complete set of doll house furniture? I gave my daughter my own dollhouse, the one I used when I was a little girl. It was not in mint condition, because it was stuck in my mom’s old attic through all these years. But her dad fixed it up just fine.

The two had a blast hammering and sawing. Then he made my little princess choose what color she wanted it repainted. Then it was time to choose the furniture. Since it was an old Victorian-style dollhouse, we looked for pieces that would fit the era. I was so happy to find the perfect pieces on the internet. Now my daughter and I are creating our own special memories by playing with our brand-new, old dollhouse
